Belgian brewer Duvel Moortgat said on Tuesday that it had put in a bid to buy some of the assets of bankrupt Belgian peer Liefmans Breweries. Duvel, known for its trademark bottled beer and other speciality beers such as La Chouffe, said in a short statement that it was also seeking temporarily to continue production at the brewer under the supervision of administrators.
Duvel added that other parties had also put forward offers to continue production or buy Liefmans assets.
