In the Evening Standard, Neil Collins reports on former Transport Minister Stephen Ladyman’s comments, made at an Open Europe event this week, that the business case for Galileo is “doomed”. He writes, “The Government opposes the project, but as with so many other euro-fantasies, can’t stop it. Ministers will eventually be forced into acquiescence and will then tell us how profitable it’s going to be, since all public sector bodies will have to use it. This will bump up their costs, but never mind; it covers those embarrassing euro-screwups.”
