Antwerp’s diamond trade agrees to restructure
After months of damaging splits within the sector, the vote is the first sign that the city’s gem operators are coming together in the face of growing competition from Asia.
Antwerp remains the world’s largest trading centre for rough diamonds, with 80 per cent of such stones passing through the city, but it must compete with newer gem centres in China, India and the United Arab Emirates. READ ON
