Drunk crossing in Romania

Officials in Pecica, a Romanian village town near Hungary, have found the answer to their drunk problem. They have installed 10 road signs around popular nightspot areas in the town. The signs are bright red in color which show a person crawling on their knees while clutching a glass in one hand with the Romanian phrase "Cetateni Turmentati" (in English - “Attention - Drunks”) under it.

The mayor of the town, Peter Antal, got his inspiration from a town in Germany which installed similar signs. The signs warning Romanian drivers to be careful of "drunken" pedestrians lying on roads have been scrapped by council officials after "excessive" media coverage.
