Although medical tourism is nothing new, it was kind of funny to see an NBC news report about Americans actually coming to Belgium for things like hip replacement. Some of the insurance companies are even offering to pay for it. This guy had his hip replaced in Belgium for $16,000 versus the $47,000 he would have paid in the US.
