Markus Schenker was not the pilot here
A US Airways plane with 55 people on board went into the chilly Hudson River, apparently after striking some geese upon takeoff from New York's LaGuardia Airport. Everybody made it out.If these were Canadian geese, is this a terrorist act?
The stock market should go up today...what a country! Seriously this pilot must have a huge set of balls. He deserves whatever he wants, because it won't be long before PETA uses his likeness in a campaign for saving the geese.
And I hate to dampen the euphoria, but this America, and the plane was loaded with business people and other assorted asshats, who appear to exiting WITH THEIR CARRY-ONS! C,mon people... survival first, bag of make-up and your free peanuts next.
There are cheaper ways to kill yourself Marcus
Got to love this guy's can do attitude...Fake death, Check.Suicide, on the list.
I'm sure we've all thought about faking our death at some point.....but in Alabama?.....c'mon Markus, that's just not cool.
Somewhere a shrink is salivating over the revenue they'll be able to produce with therapy for this dipshit's children.

Osama....didn't you read the damn manual?
The brand spanking new Airbus 340-600, the largest passenger airplane ever built, sat in its hangar in Toulouse, France without a single hour of airtime. Enter the Arab flight crew of Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies (ADAT) to conduct pre-delivery tests on the ground, such as engine runups, prior to delivery to Etihad Airways in Abu Dhabi. The date was November 15, 2007.The ADAT crew taxied the A340-600 to the run-up area. Then they took all four engines to takeoff power with a virtually empty aircraft. Not having read the run-up manuals, they had no clue just how light an empty A340-600 really is.
The takeoff warning horn was blaring away in the cockpit because they had all 4 engines at full power. The aircraft computers thought they were trying to takeoff but it had not been configured properly (flaps/slats, etc.) Then one of the ADAT crew decided to pull the circuit breaker on the Ground Proximity Sensor to silence the alarm.
This fools the aircraft into thinking it is in the air.
The computers automatically released all the brakes and set the aircraft rocketing forward. The ADAT crew had no idea that this is a safety feature so that pilots can't land with the brakes on.
Not one member of the seven-man Arab crew was smart enough to throttle back the engines from their max power setting, so the $80 million brand-new aircraft crashed into a blast barrier, totaling it.
The extent of injuries to the crew is unknown, for there has been a news blackout in the major media in France and elsewhere. Coverage of the story was deemed insulting to Moslem Arabs. Finally, the photos are starting to leak out.

Cargo Plane crashes at Brussels Airport
A freight aircraft belonging to the US carrier Kalitta Air crashed on take-off at Brussels Airport today. The plane split in two.
Four of the five crew members on board the Boeing 747 were slightly injured, said Francis Vermeiren, mayor of the nearby town of Zaventem. The mayor was coordinating rescue efforts after the crash.
"The plane is not on fire but it has split into two," he told VRT radio.
Firefighters were coating the wings of the plane with special fire retardant foam as a precaution because the plane was still full of jet fuel, the mayor said.
He said the plane was on a scheduled flight to Bahrain. It was not known what cargo the plane was carrying.

The Busby Babes
On February 6th 1958, a airplane carrying the famous Manchester United “Busby Babes” side crashed on it’s third takeoff attempt from Munich after failing to reach adequate height due to a slush-covered airstrip. They were known as the Busby Babes because they were managed by Sir Matt Busby. In addition to the 8 players who lost their lives, Johnny Berry and Jackie Blachflower were also so badly injured internally that they were unable to ever play again, while manger Matt Busby was forced to spend two months in intensive care as doctors feared he could still die any day.STORY IN THE TIMES

I hate when that happens!
This has to be one of the oddest photos that I've seen in a long time. It shows a dazed man sat in the cockpit of a plane that has just crashed.Shortly after take off the pilot issued a mayday and began losing power. It struck a warehouse with it's right wing and crashed metres away from oncoming traffic.
The pilot survived with relatively minor injuries - a broken leg, broken and and a broken nose. Link.
More photos including a larger version of the one above can be found here.
