The Brussels sewer museum shows what it takes to make a city liveable. And it isn't fancy hotels and restaurants. It is a digestive system that works so well, you don't even know it's there, thanks to far-sighted Victorians and people like Delvalée De Broux.THE MUSÉE des Égouts just reopened after major renovations. There are guided tours on request at 10 a.m. and 11.30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays. Tours are usually in French or Dutch; contact them ahead of time to see if English guides are available. The exhibits are open Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entrance fee is about $5.
