French ad for quitting smoking

cigbj.png

To the French, fellatio and cigarettes are the same thing. "To smoke is to become the slave of tobacco" reads the tagline, roughly. Glad they didn't go for the other kind of slavery, but there's a lot going on here, so it's best just to take this one at face value.

Also, this explains why the French are always smoking and why the ad probably encourages smoking rather than preventing it.

Hot Olympic babe of the day

I still don’t know much French after 12 years here.. but I do know that 31-year old French ice dancer Isabelle Delobel is absolutely gorgeous. She also has a twin sister named Veronique. Mmm . . . hot French babes ice dancing in bondage getups!... Is there anything they can’t do?

Mr Rude is impolite, smelly ... and French

Bonjour, Monsieur Rude... He's the impolite new Mr. Man and, yes, he's French. Mr Rude is also, “impolite, ill-mannered and smelly”.
Mr Rude invites people to pull his finger which acts as a trigger for his ripping off a fart, or as you Brits say "blowing a raspberry". Mr Rude has a French accent. Mr Rude has large nose.
A spokesman for the French ambassador says Mr Rude is “unlikely to improve Anglo-French relations”. Happily, Mr Rude is being broadcast on Channel Five.

Says a spokesman for the UK’s thirty-fifth channel: “The fact Mr Rude has a French accent is meant to be light-hearted and tongue-in cheek and no offence to the French.” Had offence been intended, Mr Rude would have been set in occupied France in the 1940.
Although the show is geared to children, it sounds a bit like South Park to me, and it's already been sold to American TV. STORY

Brussels has the best looking hookers!

Who knew eh? Maybe the country can start promoting them a bit more....Belgium, land of chocolate, frites, beer, and the best looking hookers.

Since the introduction of a new law and a clamp down on prostitution in France, many French men have been travelling to Brussels to satisfy their urges.
Maybe it has something to do with French women.......? On the weekend the red light district is often swamped.
Some punters drive for hours to have a good time and Belgian working girls are said to be far more beautiful than those of Amsterdam. Paying for sex in Belgium is not a problem, but the nuisance the French punters cause isn't appreciated.

Police say they drink on the public highway, take drugs and row with other punters in the bars. I'm sure the Belgian johns do nothing like that.....
Often banned weapons and drugs are found in their vehicles. So far seventy French nationals have been detained during Operation Dolly - half the total number of detentions.

Fight for Kisses

Sigmund Freud might have something to say about the new Wilkinson campaign from France that exploits Edipus Complex to promote a razor, but ask any new dad - there's an element of jealousy when the little 'bundle of joy' gets more love and attention than you do and Wilkinson taps into this.

In a world of razor ads that make me generally scream and throw something at the television, this is brilliant! VIEW VIDEO

In Belgium, Even the Smurfs are Confused

Belgium and Canada have similar positions. Each sits on its continent, incontournable as the French say, undeniably there, but largely ignored by its larger neighbours.
Consider Belgium today. It is in the midst of a major political crisis. You haven't noticed? Neither has most of Europe.
The comic approach appeals to Belgians. Listen to Rik Torfs, a Flemish professor of government and religion: "We only produce useless things such as beer and chocolates. So we are an absolute centre of mediocrity.
"And that's a good reason to be in favour of the survival of Belgium. As we are a centre of mediocrity, nobody envies us, nobody hates us. And that's nice."

Every Tuesday evening, people of various nationalities gather in numerous European cafes to sit around a game board... not Risk or Catan, but a highly original language game: newamigosville. It’s instructive and fun – what more could you want? The place to be in Brussels is the back room of Café Monk, rue Saint Cathérine 42 from 7 to 11 pm on Tuesdays. English is second language in Brussels

English has become the second most commonly spoken language in Brussels, according to a study by Philippe Van Parijs, professor at the UCL, La Libre Belgique reported today.
The study shows the rapid spread of English in Brussels. When today's teenagers have finished their language studies, it is probable that the ranking of Dutch, French and English in Belgium will be shuffled.
"English will be the most commonly spoken language in the country, followed by Dutch, and then by French." English is already the second language in Wallonia and Brussels. The second language in Flanders continues to be French.

But will we still be able to get Waffles?

Arrêtez!... This could be the end of Belgium
Yves Leterme, the Flemish politician and party leader who is struggling to put together a ruling coalition after Flemish-speaking separatists made striking electoral gains, has declared Belgium "an accident of history".
Belgium has long been the butt of jokes from its larger European neighbours. But to its French-speaking minority, the current political crisis is no laughing -matter. READ ON
