If it's too much porn for Antwerp, it must be good!

The Antwerp provincial authorities have shelved plans for an exhibition of a collection of photographs of women put together by the Flemish author Louis Paul Boon.
The exhibition was to take place in the Antwerp Photo Museum, but has been abandoned because some of the photos are pornographic. Some have been labelled child pornography. Louis Paul Boon's Feminatheek was a joke that got out of hand.

One official told the VRT the photo's he saw had nothing to do with art. “It's a collection of old-fashioned photos. Some of the images flirt with pornography”.
Some of the images smack of child pornography and the provincial authorities did not want these in their museum.

Belgium Porn King Sentenced

A court in the Limburg town of Tongeren has convicted the pornographic film producer Dennis Burkas, aka Dennis Black Magic, The Flemish Porn King, (ya gotta have a monicker in the porn biz)) for the molestation of an under-age girl. Burkas has been given a one year prision sentance and stripped of his civil rights for ten years.
The 33-year-old was not chaged with rape as the 15 year-old girl not only consented to sex but also actively looked for sexual contact with the porn barron . I'm sure most 15 year olds know what they're doing so thats understandable....what?

Dennis Burkas was not in court when sentence was passed. The judge orded his immediate arrest. Evidently he fled to Prague several years ago after he tried to commit suicide to avoid his debts. He should know that in Belgium they'll come after you even if you're dead.

Web Sites "Tear Down That Wall"

Rupert Murdoch's announcement this week that he expects to stop charging for access to the Wall Street Journal's Web site is the latest example of a publisher giving up on the subscription-based business model -- a significant shift in the evolution of online content.
In recent months, the Economist, the New York Times and the Financial Times have all moved content out from "behind the wall," an industry metaphor for the location of paid online content.

The lesson seems to be that online consumers will pay only for niche content of intense interest to them -- such as specialized industry news from trade publications, inside sports news, gambling tips, pornography and so on.
