Eduardo Da Silva broken leg

Arsenal's Eduardo da Silva was playing some futbol on Saturday when Martin Taylor decided to play Lawrence Taylor to da Silva's Theismann. Some people who follow the sport of soccer are not real happy about it either.

All the actual footage of the play seems to be getting removed as quickly as it's put up. If the video above is also taken down by the time you read this, just go here and search for it.
For those of you who want to relive the Theisman leg break......if it only could have been his jaw...to actually shut the guy up for once.

Belgian Streaker at Football Game

A Hockey Coach, Bernard Devresse, who wanted to propose to his girlfriend in a different way, streaked across the pitch during the Belgium-Armenia football game last week. Needless to say, he is not a hockey coach any more, and he is now without a girlfriend.

Go here for more pictures and story, but consider yourself warned boys, it's not a pretty site. (we're talkin full frontal)

Soccer.....America's favorite sport!

Beckham scores his first goal for LA.
Paid attendance for Wednesday’s game in which Beckham scored and tallied an assist? Under 10,000. Apparently, 8,000 free tickets were given away.
Posh and Becks whooo?

Is She a Whore?

Italy defender Marco Materazzi finally disclosed what he said to Zinedine Zidane in the World Cup final that provoked the French star to retaliate with a head-butt.
Finally, after a little more than one year, we finally have the words that led to the headbutt heard ’round the world: I prefer the whore that is your sister.’ This solidifies it - Zidane is a weak, weak man.
Does Materazzi really think people are going to buy this book because of that one line? Does he really think he’s that compelling of a figure?

YOU GO......GRANNY!

A grandmother aged 78 from Kapelle-op-den-Bos may be banned from entering a football stadium because she called a police officer she suspected of supporting KV Mechelen a "pompous bastard."
The woman, a fanatic supporter of arch-rival Racing Mechelen, was told at the police station that her file might be sent on "to Brussels," to the interior ministry's special unit on football hooligans.
The elderly woman is hoping for clemency after the questioning at the police station. You can see where this would be a challenge for the Belgian Police.

What a Hoot: Owl Interrupts Finland-Belgium Football Match

Yesterday, the Group A Euro 2008 qualifying soccer match between Finland and Belgium at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki was interrupted for more than six minutes by an owl that had flown into the stadium.
The Eurasian Eagle Owl (the largest owl species in the world) swooped around the stadium, alighting on several goal posts, to the delight of the assembled crowd. Finland won the match 2-0.
Good thing it didn't happen at an American football game, somebody would have shot it.

European football exhibition opens in Brussels

An exhibition retracing the evolution of European football and the European Union has just opened as part of the ongoing celebrations taking place in Brussels this year to mark the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome. Organised in conjunction with UEFA, and supported by Lilian Thuram of FC Barcelona, Only a Game? will run until 26 August at the Musées Royaux d'Art et d'Histoire located at the Parc du Cinquantenaire.

The exhibition presents rare artefacts from the Köln Olympic Museum, the Preston Football Museum, the National Museum of French Sports and UEFA, including a George Best shirt from 1971, a Spitting Image puppet of Eric Cantona, the football used in the 1998 World Cup final, Franz Beckenbauer’s 1974 world championship shoes, a Peter Schmeichel Manchester United shirt, one of Zidane’s jerseys and a 1930’s flag from Dick, Kerr’s Ladies of Preston, the most famous early women’s football team.
